Fuel filler neck pipe CUCV

Ever since I finished my truck, I’ve been nursing a cut in half filler hose because I could not find the correct hose when I was putting it back together. Truck is a CUCV with an outside diameter on the filler pipe of 2-5/16”. All of the hoses that I have found at parts stores are 1-3/4” on both sides.

I was thinking that I would buy a gas filler pipe with a 1.75” OD so future fuel filler hoses would be simplified. However, looking at photos of fuel filler pipe, it appears I’d also have to buy the sheet metal that the pipe screws to as well. Not even diesel pipes appear to match my factory CUCV pipe.

I want either a pipe to go with a 1.75” hose or a hose that’s 2-5/16” on the long side of the L and 1.75” on the short side of the L.

I went to a truck parts store not auto parts and found that hose for my CUCV blazer, but that was a few years ago.

The more I think about it, the more a gas filler pipe makes sense. It’ll hold a gasoline pump nozzle better at the station.

a gas filler may not accept a diesel dispenser, they are typically a bigger. some of the combo fuel pumps may have a small dispenser but any dedicated diesel pump will have the large dispenser

Sounds good. I’ll just order the neck and make a temporary adapter for my current surround until those come in.

If there's a marine supply near you, you could use 2-3/8 marine filler hose, it's common. You'll need good clamps

It’s 1.75” on the tank side though and a fairly tight radius 90 and the end of the hose. I could adapt some stuff and that’s a decent suggestion on where to find the 2-3/8” fuel neck hose.

However, I already ordered the filler pipe. It’ll make my life easier in the future.

Old Rangers used a dual diameter 2-5/16th - 1 7/16ths they had a 45*. Maybe you could make it work. I'll see if I can find a pic and descrition.

Also I'd look at the exhaust pipe adapter section at Oreillys use a metal sleeve that's stepped and 2 appropriate hoses. Here's a pic of that dual diamension hose.
