WHAT THE HELL DID I FIND IN THESE MUFFLERS? Got 'em for $10 each shook all this woodlike stuff out and soaked em in Jasco. They seem like new, but the mystery remains. This is not wood. The cellular composition is completely symmetrical and gridlike...

Reminds me of stuff that may have come out of a older failed catalytic converter. I remember an older one 20 to 25 years ago failing and blowing crap out the tailpipe. IMO.

Catalytic converter core, or what's left of it. Must have been in there a while. All the sharp edges are knocked off like they were in a rock tumbler.
