Correction, there WAS a half inch nut with a spring. I put WD-40 on it, and a wrench. It gave a little bit, so I backed it off the other way and rocked it back-and-forth. Felt like she was loose so I gave her a little more and snap! Spring and broken bolt fall to the bottom of the door. There's a spring under the assembly inside the door that provides tension. Snug up the nut and the spring will apply more pressure inside the door. I think the nut is 7/16 or 1/2. Unscrew the door panel to access it. Remove the handles first, of course...lol...
I just put the damn cover and handles back on and said to hell with it. One day I’ll replace that whole set up.
