if this is the cam your are speaking of then yes it would be a good one :) note you will have a smooth idling engine... No more race truck lope. Those flat cam lobes spell your 3 month problem out clear as day... kinda like I told you in that pm. I really wouldn't take a chance at not getting the heads rebuilt. 1. Those springs are prob worn out 2.valve or two might be gunked up and sticking.

And make sure any new cam you install you run oil with either zddp in it or as an additive unless you want flat lobe again :p

If I can find an engine stand the motor is coming out today. I want to take my time and do it right, and I really want to clean it up and paint it.

Good deal. That cam will provide some serious low rpm torque and roast tires. I may do the same here shortly I'm really getting tired of these FN cold starts every morning. Really thinking bout going to the yard and getting an ls...

I don't want to go as far as dropping an LS in. So you think that cam that comp suggested is a pretty good bet? If all I am giving up is lope, then I don't care. I have listened to this thing lope in my driveway for so long without being able to drive it that I don't care if I never hear another lopey cam again lol.

Yea that cam is good to go. You'll feel the throttle response is totally different.

This is $75 cheaper on Amazon than it is on comps website. The kit their rep just tried to sell me was $554.52

mine seem to be ok. I will double check all of them. I am going to buy a whole new set of push rods. I will get the motor out today and with this nice weather coming this weekend, I will get the heads off and call the machine shop about getting them cleaned/fluxed and have the valves checked.

Anybody run one of these or heard anything about them? It will eliminate my need for an adapter and its only $112. And its polished, and that just looks good.
