Not sure. I think all depends on what pressure they need to run at. But being a carb, the OEM pump should work. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on that subject will chime in.

That's what I was thinking as well. I replied to Larry from Clifford, but haven't heard back yet.

The Weber and the intake are in my "cart", just waiting for the word on that before I pull the trigger.

Thanks again.

I'm sure you'll be happier with that setup than the monojet. Besides the performance improving, your mileage should also improve.

Monomers are for cars or industrial \ agricultural applications because you don’t need the volume or the load changing that a truck could use.

I wish the square body i lines got more love like Ford did, they made a timeless engine up to 96 and people want it. Gm could have done that on the old platform ones so it would have a more following today.
Atlas don’t count

Yeah, I mentioned what I was doing on my 292 over on Stovebolt, and some were supportive, others not so much. I expected that over there, though. Those old boys don't mess around. One of them jokingly said I should put a Ford 300 in my truck and lock the hood so nobody would see that I've gone to the dark side...lol... I will admit, the 300 is a fine engine. A classmate had a '79 F100 or 150 4x4 shortbed with a 4 inch lift that had a 300 in it, and that truck had plenty of power, and was great off roading.

To be honest, I am a Ford guy, however I am a fan of any of the old American Inline 6s, and of course I like the square body style, which is why I was attracted to this truck. That, and its condition in general.

My first choice was a '92-96 F-150 or F-250 with the 300, but I'm very pleased with my truck. I knew that I have terrible luck with carburetors, but I took that chance. As with buying a vehicle that has sat for most of its life.

The fact that I just spent $1200 on it a few minutes ago proves that I'm pretty committed to it, haha! New intake and Weber 2bbl are coming soon!

I don't have any favorites when it comes to a brand, they all have good, bad and ugly. Some mostly ugly, like Dodge...lol... But they all have their place in history.

Right on! Did you get the 32 or the 38?

Agreed!

Larry suggested the 38, so that's what I ordered.

With the 38 you'll be ready for more upgrades down the road.

I find it ironic that he suggested the 38. I contacted him a couple years ago when I was still deciding my direction on the 292, and he told the 38 wouldn't work well on my 292. Maybe it was because I wasn't going to use a Clifford intake...lol...

And that was before the fuel injection era. Fuel injection really made the 300 shine.

My 96 is a 300. It’s bare bones except ac and a coolant heater lol.. technically a radio since you could have a no radio truck.

long bed half ton 2wd. I want a better ratio like 3.55 and LSD not open 3.08

My dad's was a '92 F-150 Custom, no radio and no rear bumper. 300 + 5spd.

It killed me when he traded it in instead of letting me buy it, as I got my license at the same time.

"Well, it had the original clutch [at 130k-ish miles]"

So? The POS '86 Sentra I got instead was somehow better? Rest assured, the next owner of that F-150 got more use out of it than I did my first 5 cars combined.

Anyway, my '74 C10 is a Custom, before Custom Deluxe became the base trim. Had an AM radio and heavy duty rear springs as options. Manual brakes/steering/trans. I love how simple it is.

I wouldn’t mind manual steering as long as the truck is normally leveled, if it’s like my f150 that sits ass up that would be killer maybe a slightly larger OD wheel

is it a 3 speed on tree? If so, damn, that should have been a choice option with being able to floor shift it

I unfortunately have an e40d. Just slushy feeling and I would have preferred a 5 speed to go with 3.55 gears

Yes, and I'd rather have a 3+o/d transmission offered in the early GMT400, but that's a project for another day.

Well I am a manual transmission enthusiast, and this is my first 3 speed on the column. I can live with it, but its definitely something I'd like to upgrade eventually.

There are some vehicles I would not accept an automatic in (and have refused them in the past based solely on that fact), but I think I'd be fine with a 300 6 + o/d automatic.
