It's just a thi k washer, remove the center bolt and washer and install your pulley.

I was just wondering because it was already discovered that no special pulley was required for that balancer
I guess I missed that?

From my experience the OEM balancer is deeply recessed in the center. The typical CVF pulley is stepped on the backside to fit this recess to locate properly. The recess is deep enough for the center bolt and washer to clear the pulley.

Regarding the BBC application. The one I did had a stock balancer and was made as described above. I have no experience with aftermarket balancers as in the OP. Just judging by the photo which I could be misinterpreting.

I am curious about your big block application though, as I've never been aware of any balancer that required a special crank pulley.
As I recall the BBC I installed a CVF front drive system on had a balancer that was recessed in the center, similar to this: https://www.cjponyparts.com/harmoni...with-big-block-396-402-chevy-engine/p/HB6329/ So it does appear that are types?

It may be that CVF makes lower pulleys or adapter/spacers to accommodate different harmonic balancers but could not find this on their website. The first responser, who suggested contacting them, had I think the best response.

I was only trying to offer my experience, other's may have a different expericence or opinion. I certainly don't know it all.

That recessed part is the backside of the balancer.

NAH, all the responses that said to remove the bolt and washer, install the pulley with the three bolts and reinstall the center washer and bolt were the best responses.

Aftermarket balancer I have 2 of them here similar but silver. Pulley goes on and indexes in the opening then the bolt and washer are installed inside the pulley that way if it tosses or breaks the pully bolts the balancer bolt and washer will prevent it from exiting thru the hood or radiator or vice versa.

As far as I'm aware the BBC is the same way someone may have put the wrong washer on it if it fit down inside.
