I've been watching a CL ad for over a week now and finally called on it and went out to see for myself. well back up a sec, first I wasn't going replace my tailgate any time soon.

Then the CL ad appeared and now I have:

Before I left this nice guy offered these just to get them out of his way:

A slightly used tailgate for less than a skin would cost and trading stock thrown in. I'm a happy camper tonight.

That trim panel on it is worth a small fortune I think.

Thats a nice tailgate! Are you going to paint it to match the truck or paint the truck to match the tailgate?

LOL, almost the later, but will paint it to match truck when I repaint this summer. Dithering between bright yellow and white.

Thinking of removing the trim piece and making an oak panel. This is the only piece of bling on my truck and it looks out of place for the smooth clean look I'm going after. When done I want just mirrors showing on the sides, least that's todays idea.

That panel came as part of the Cheyenne level trim package on the mid-late 70's trucks.
