15 is in gear or in park? You always do it in gear. Turn screws in all the way then back out 2 full turns. Adjust evenly until best vacuum. If still bogging, look at metering rods. 800 is a little high for idling.

15 was in park, I'm a total rookie with the whole carb thing! I'm trying to get a buddy over here to hold the brake pedal since I don't have e brake hooked up. I'll update once I get a friend here to hold my brakes so I don't die

I'm also getting a ton of spit back through the carb, I wouldn't call it backfiring cuz no bang but I am getting hiccups for lack of a better explanation

I spose I can't argue with that. I'll update a little more later. Gonna play around with it as soon as I'm awake enough.

Ok guys it's been a few days and I've finally had some real time to mess with this thing. Here's what I found out the truck in drive is idling around 650 rpm and sits about 14 hg for vacuum pressure. Timing is set at 24* b tdc, I know this is way out of specs, however it purrs like a kitten. No more bog on acceleration. Thoughts ?

If the motor likes that timing and doesn't detonate then go with it. It could be that the damper has slipped or you have the wrong timing pointer and that the timing isn't really that advanced.

Well I took it for a little ride today cuz I just had to know. And aside from the electric choke not working properly/ at all it was awesome to drive! Now to get the seats in it so I can really drive it! Woo hoo

Ok so after troubleshooting the electric choke I have determined the following. If I remove the cap completely it can move the lever manually and it opens and close the choke. It's a little stiff but I wouldn't say it's ridiculous. It has 14.4 v in the run position, pretty steady might I add. Good solid ground as well. I pulled off the backplate for the electric choke to verify the vacuum port isn't clogged and indeed it is not clogged. Also put it up to my mouth and made the diaphragm move back and forth. I'm really very frustrated with it at this point. I added the e choke kit to it. Could it be a bad cap? Could it be too much resistance for it to open? I let it run with the choke connected for upward of 10 mins after it got warm and it never opened up the choke flap. any idears?

Is your choke set to never come off. You should be able to loosen the choke cap and when you turn it either left our right, it should move the choke flap. One way closes it shut, the other way opens it up. This is setting the duration the choke stays on until warm. If you have it to far set to stay on longer, it will never open up.

I have loosened it and move it both directions with no change to the flap.
