C30 truck

I'm just going to see if anyone out there knows of a clean body 73-87 2wd 1ton chevy/GMC chassis with a body. prefer a 4 speed one since I'm going to build a wrecker out of it. I found a nice old school Holmes 440 wrecker bed and wanting to build a 73-80 wrecker like I learned to tow with. I've got a few,but most of mine are pretty rusty and would like to start with something alittle nicer. I have plenty of engines, transmissions, rear ends ect.... even a clean glider would work.

I would sell you my 84 C30 cab and chassis. I am fairly local to you but it is an automatic. Runs really well with the 5.7L. Looking to get $1200 out of it.

Someone on here is going to be selling a C30 Rolling Chassis and I think bed real soon and it also has an SM465 set up going with it. Dammit, not sure who it is now. They are taking the Cab, Front Clip and 454 out of it. I bet you have the rest of the parts to put it together. I forget where it is too. Look around on here if it's something that will work for you Joe. I know it's a Newbie, cuz they don't have 50 posts to list it yet.

The rolling Chassis someone on here will have is a dually, with long bed pick up box, so it's a Pick Up, not a Cab & Chassis.

In case it matters a Cab and Chassis is 135.5" wheel base and the regular C30 dually pickup has a wheel base of 131.5"

Need shorter one. Want to say 60" cab to axle. Changing rear end out is not a big deal, but really want 4 speed to start with. I don't feel like changing pedals and trans out. I missed out on a nice 83 c30 with a 6.2 4 speed that was at scrapyard by a hr other day. They had done smashed top and put in stack. Sad part is scale guy sad it was drove in. I have several crew cab options already , but think they would be a bit long for a daily truck

Them crushers really suck.
Over here, if one is drove across the scale, they will use it for a yard vehicle until it runs out of fuel, then it is crushed, well, here they use them big jaws and tear them to shreds.
i could not do a job like that.

Dude, it pissed me off that 89S had to go when it did. It pissed me off when that 87 I had to take over the scale from the tow yard. That thing still had a ton of good Burb parts incuding a good running TBI motor, ECM and harness I'd have love to of had. In your situation, and my situation, time was up. **** had to go. But damn, hearing of people driving them in and scrapping, that really sucks even worse.

May those Burbs and C30's Rest In Pieces !!!
