Yea I haul scrap straight to the shredder most of the time. I remember years ago being there and there was a 1979-1980 K30 single wheel fire truck top smashed off to the side. It had around 30k miles on it and big block. I tried everything to get it but couldn't. Sad part is I can junk about any car and never think twice about it, but the old Chevy trucks and gm cars are hard to see going up the belt into the shredder.

You should get a trailer and come down here. $200 each for rust free beds all day long, sometimes you can find a decent bed for $50-100. Get 2 or 3, fill with other rust free parts and then when you get back, sell the extra beds for $300-500 or even more and any rust free parts you don't use, you've likely paid for the bed and parts plus the trip by the time you're finished.

I have seriously considered taking trucks and cars to the rust belt states to part them out. I once heard of a guy in the rust belt all excited about getting a 95% rust free bed for $500. I about **** all over myself and thought he was the stupidest dude I'd met online before. Then I was told that is the going rate for anything that has little enough rust that can be easily repaired.

It wasn't long after that, I paid $100 for this:

I kept the bed of course, with a small dent under the driver side taillight, and a spot of rust behind the driver side fender well.

I sold the rear end for $100, Sold the BellTech 2/4 lowering kit for $200, kept all the new Moog tie rod ends, pitman and idler arm, along with the front sway bar. All the suspension parts were put on the C20, so was the bed. Kept the spare steering gear box. Kept the fuel tank and brackets. Cut the frame up and scrapped it with another truck so I got $200/ton for that, not sure what the weight was. At any rate, made a nice profit plus mega FREE parts.

Yea hot rod that's a $750-$800 bed easy here if not more. I just sold one of my few rust free cabs I had for $1200 complete takeoff with doors. My dream would be to go down south and buy rust free stuff. I've talked with a few on here before, but haven't found funds to get started since I buy do many rust buckets around here

Damn !!! And then I've got this bed too. It has a spot of rust behind the wheel wells about the size of a tennis ball on both sides that could easily be fixed. My other beds are pretty much rust free, but they're beat up a little bit. The K1500 had a nice bed on it unit I had that blow out. But, I did cut a piece off another bed that I'll weld into that one and make it good as new again. I'd be all over taking $500 for one of those good beds, either the blue or the brown. I don't think I'd get that here in OK though. Maybe, never know.

 With some time to get it in order, I'm sure I can come up with all the above needed. Now that I got this 1/2 ton Burb, I may just pull my Fo Fitty Fo and Th 400 out of the C20 and part it out down to the frame. Just not positive yet. The Hood has softball size hail damage which really sucks. It was a good hood. Bed, Cab, doors and Fenders are all good though. I think the pass door may have had a dent repair in it though. But may have another door on another truck too. Maybe I need to start collecting parts an trailer a load to the NorthEast.
