Start by removing the overload spring and see where that gets you.

I have pulled all the overloads out, this truck was used to haul a fifth wheel car trailer, so I think they put some big springs in it.

Why do the swap, just remove a leaf or two.

On my K30 I had my springs rebuilt and found a broken leaf on either side in the lower part of the pack. I decided to remove one leaf from either side when I put it back together. Now it's a 7/1 spring. Since I have the OE above the spring overload I was not worried about the loss of a little weight capacity. Seems to ride softer than my 3" Tuff Country HD front springs.
