C20 suburban lowering issues

Howdy all,

I’m having some trouble with lowering a c20 85 suburban. Currently I have a 1 inch drop shackle on the back and have tried 2 different spring combinations for a 1 and 2 inch drop coil for the front from performance online. Unfortunately I’m getting huge variance on drop (see the pics below).

Should I switch to C30 belltech 4500 1 inch drop coils? Will these work with a C20? I’m tired of having to change now a third set of coils.


First pic is 2” coil drop from performance online (moog brand re boxed)

Second pic is 1” cool drop from the same company and it raised up way too high.

Buy drop spindles,it's a better way of doing it and it's precise.

The measurements have the front lower than the rear by 1/8 inch but the fender openings are bigger resulting in a bit of an optical illusion. Wonder if these coils will settle at all?

You can't judge how the truck sits with new springs just by lowering the lift, you need to roll it back and forth. How much of a drop are you looking for?

I tell everybody that'll listen, don't bother with aftermarket drop springs. They're ALL too soft. Regardless if your truck is a big block or small block, get the Moog replacement big block springs and cut them till you're happy. Remember that 1 coil = roughly 2" of drop at the wheel so adjust according to your desired drop.

Made a big decision today. We are going to pull the motor, reseal it, add Holley sniper and new intake, and a 1900-2200 stall converter.

I feel like I’m one guy that got away with it, mine seem appropriate. But then again, I never ran mine in isolation without a stiffer shock (KYB Gas-a-just) so that may be masking what would otherwise be too soft a spring. Mine are CPP 2.5” lowering springs.

I feel like I’m one guy that got away with it, mine seem appropriate. But then again, I never ran mine in isolation without a stiffer shock (KYB Gas-a-just) so that may be masking what would otherwise be too soft a spring. Mine are CPP 2.5” lowering springs.
I’m running kyb gas adjust too on the front. Maybe they are too stiff?
