We need more info. Strictly drift or street driven daily? What truck? What engine? What diff?

It’s a 6.0l I’ll be driving it a week out of the month in summer. And I’m wondering what diff to put in I want a wide stance

OK the diff doesn't change the stance,if you're driving it on the street you're going to need a posi. For drifting only I'd run a spool. What transmission is in it.?

True, a spool is no good for on the street. But it sure is fun. I find it quite hilarious to run a spool or welded diff on the street and something about the hilariousness of it, I find to be enjoyable, lol. Plus, if it's not driven often, the excessive tire wear doesn't matter since they will still probably dry rot before you wear them out. Unless of course there's a lot of burnouts, in which case the spool is the right choice anyway.

A differential from a GMT400 or GMT800 will give you a wider stance. You will need to weld new saddles on the housing to line up with you springs. The Square body 10 bolt diffs have 28 spline axles and the 400 & 800 have 31 splines. Otherwise the internals are the same.

If you pick a spool instead of the posi, don't forget to paint a line down each drive axle. Standard axle will twist a full turn before it breaks. This way you can keep a eye on the axles and avoid a failure.
