Bed Differences

In my quest for a bed for my truck, I am finding some that have one good side, and one bad. Are the bedsides the same on the 73-80 as the 81-87 except for the fuel door? If so, my search would be a lot easier.

Yeah they are the same besides the fuel door. I think some of the real early ones had a different tailgate latch arrangement, but I'm not sure if that made a difference in the bedsides.

Bucket, when i put a 79 tailgate on my 76 i had to change the latch/tailgate support thing. But they are only held to the bedside by 2 bolts.

So yes, they are interchangable.
