I'm starting to piece together a 383 build. Picked up a set of vortecs that are already at the machine shop getting freshened up.

Found a very nice ZZ4 bare block on craigslist, and have a question. These newer one-piece main seal blocks.....will it use my current 74 balancer/accessories? I'd love to upgrade to the newer block with the roller cam provision.

You will need an oil pan for a 1-piece rear main seal, as well as a '75-later timing cover. You also will need a flywheel/flexplate for the later block.

That's how I built my motor and it runs great. Enough power to break a u-joint haha. I have a one piece rear main with all the take off stuff from my old worn out 350.
