Just for something to drive, we drove a 2007 yukon xl denali. She actually was ok with the size. Price was ok for 147k miles, but not really anything i need/want. Would prefer split bench 2nd row. 6.2 was really impressive, but into a headwind at 75mph it was getting 8mpg, lol

Now for decisions. Harder to find lower mileage rust free burban 2004-2006, or the Toyota Sienna. Reliabity has scared us off the honda.

...Toyota Sienna...

Ack! Stay away from those! They are glorified and overrated garbage, IMHO. I've worked on more than my share of them (because they have issues) and met an alarming number of dissatisfied owners. The newer they are, the more problems they have. The older ones were decent, but by now most of them have been rode hard and put away wet.

The 3 we have looked at seemed OK. Still not 100% sure about not wanting an Odyssey either. We still have a few months to decide before we absolutely need something.

What kind of issues have you seen on the sienna?

At 30-35k miles/year, it needs to be a smoking deal to justify the fuel.

I do think we will get a burb at some point, just don't know if it will be this time around.

All sorts of problems really, but a few expensive and extremely costly ones. If you value working AC or the power sliding doors, stay away from them.

I haven't dealt with them that new, I'd say '04 -'08 or around in there. I don't know the different generations and whatnot, never cared honestly. It was never fun when one came into the shop.

Any opinions on this one? I'm going to look at it Monday morning. According to carfax was posted for sale on carsoup last april, not sure how long it has been on craigslist. Either issues or won't budge on price?

It looks to be in excellent condition, good miles too. That would be a good price around here I think, if you could even find one that clean.

I agree with bucket! Looks clean and nicely priced. Give that one a nice, hard look.

plan to next monday(seller out of town until sunday). high retail is only around 12K in excellent condition. i could see going to 12K on it if they won't really budge, but 13,700 is a bit much. there are a few more around with a few more miles for less money.

i learned today they made some suburbans with AWD?? test drove an '04 and only had AWD, 4Lo, and a Neutral. never even knew that was an option.

front differential whined a bit on that one. i think it is common for the AWD units, but not sure how common or if it is actually a sign of impending failure?

Made an offer on that red denali for 9500, but it sounds like exactly what i suspected. They think they have gold and are going to sit on it until an idiot comes by and will give them what they are asking.

Frame was clean, body has some dings/scratches/chips, no rust. Drove decent but steering shakes above 75.

I think my offer was fair, in fact maybe 500 too high, but i doubt it would be accepted
