Anyone ever had the ball joint rip out on a 10 bolt front?

Had this happen to me up in the trail, broke the whole top of the knuckle had to weld in a new ball joint to get it home. On an 1981 K20 front 10 bolt. Also that lower ball joint is just whats left of the housing, the actual ball part of the joint ripped straight out I think and caused the problem but wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Was brand new moog ball joints.

I've seen it happen to the "Fall Guy" truck but have never had it happen to me. A friend had one break on a Ford Dana 60 out on the trail. We were able to strap it together and tow it off the trail in reverse fortunately. I've seen some vintage trucks that have that load truss on the axle housings to help keep the housing tubes from tearing from the housing. I'm glad to see that you made a repair and got it off the trail. Looks like you may have been having some big fun when that happened!

Crazy part was all I did was break through a bit of an icy puddle, no jumps or anything super fun. Seems like it could happen on jumps and things but I wasn't even doing anything crazy. Truss seems like a good idea.
