Ha exactly. Never had cause to peel any off, thank god now.
But I put some on our subdivision gate not long after we moved in.
After getting several notifications that our HOA had to have the poorly lit black iron gate repaired yet again after it got hit at night, in the rain, I ran a big strip of that red white trailer reflective tape on each gate both sides and it basically hasn’t gotten hit in a dozen years except for intentionally. Sometimes kids ram it and fck them up.
Cops don’t care.
I offered to install a series of huge spikes on the outside so it would hurt if you hit it with any normal vehicle. Got vetoed by the ninnies who think we’d get sued. Lol

Something about the vinyl being reflective makes it a PITA. The vinyl itself is more than one layer. You can get under it, the vinyl is still soft and pliable, but it refuses to peel off in large pieces. It just comes off in itty bitty little pieces.

Are you talking about vinyl graphics? Have you tried a heat gun yet? It works great for getting the bus letters and reflective tape off the school buses. Just a cheap Harbor Freight heat gun works great on the buses.

So you have 5 ambolances now? Get on some Nomadic or Bus or Van life facebook pages and you can sell those things. People like ambolances too. People even building U haul 17 foot box vans now as tiny homes. Nomadic movement went crazy in 2020 for COVID out of people doing what they could to get by, and many realized they love the debt free life and working remote from their mobile tiny home and travel all over the North and Central America. I mean the US, Canada and even Mexico.

Yeah, I tried a heat gun and all the other usual tricks. It's something about the composition of the reflective vinyl itself.

I've got 4 of them. I've been driving one nearly daily when I'm in town and one is currently for sale. The other two are just waiting for their turn. My buddy bought 3 of them. He's been driving one of them everyday as well. Not sure what he's doing with the other two.

Im pulling the light bars and sirens off of them before they go up for sale. Someone here wants a siren setup and my local fire dept wants two light bars and a siren setup.

Just like my 4.8L van, you can turn off the traction control and stability control, but only briefly. And if wheel spin starts getting too impressive, the computer nannies intervene anyway, despite that nonsense being turned off.

I took me a while to figure out but on my charger one push of the traction control button was like that an just let you have a tiny bit of fun. If you held it down about 10 secs it would go to full off and the abs light came on too, I guess to let you know it was serious now. Idk if the newer gms are the same but worth a try...

One push turns off traction control. A long push turns off stabilitrak as well. But both turn back on at 15-20 mph no matter what.

Nope. The medical company just asked me to remove all the lettering and paramedic insignias. They didn't have to tell me not to use the red flashing lights and sirens on a public roadway... that just goes without saying.

I've got plans to make it less like an ambulance, and more like a custom utility van anyway.

About the D.O.T. tape removal, need full attack. Take a razor scraper, remove the sharp edge with a few drag passes on smooth sandpaper. Start to lift one end with the scraper then add glue solvent as you go. Cigarette lighter fluid works or the real 3M solvent.

Taking the sharp edge off the razor will keep it from digging into the paint.

I just got my Tahoe tuned, night and day difference. Especially with the trans shifts. No more lugging crap.
