Is the 90's model heavy half rear end 14 bolt wider than the 80's model 10 bolt rear end?

Yes, if it's from a 4x4 truck. It's similar in width to a 6-lug front axle.

I'm trying to get my front and rear end to line up without having to use wheel spacers.

The added benefit is that I believe the years to be 95-99ish that the 14 SF has factory disc brakes with a drum parking brake built into it.

Has anyone changed their rear end and got them to line up? If so what did you use? I was going to just use wheel spacers but I read that you have to be careful with which ones you get.

Ive heard that the wheel spacers that use this style are stronger.

However I would think that this style would be stronger. But what do I know. Not enough apparently!

IIRC getting the front and rear lining up was a bonus of doing this swap.

OK gotcha thanks! I found a heavy half rear end for pretty cheap but I didn't know for sure if it would help me with my dilemma. After I put those new wheels and tires on there this weekend you can really notice the width difference.

I was saying I didn't know for sure if that rear end would fix my width issues. Help my dilemma of finding a wider rear end.

On the other plus side you can find a 6 lug 14 bolt from the 88-98 trucks and be 3/4 ton with the 6 lug pattern too. That's of course if your 4 wheel drive of course.

Forgot to mention that the 6 lug 14 bolt is a semi float but still stronger than the 10 bolt.
