Inherited this from my dad. He's had it since '99 and has a fantastic paper trail of all work. I'm pretty sure it's a 5.9 twelve valve, 6bt?. What I do not know is what type transmission this is. I believe it's three speed and it does have a gear vendor that I don't believe is currently operational. At least I see no indication that it has actual power working at the control head. Nonetheless, the torque converter cover and pan are as one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not sure-
It's not a Chrysler transmission, the shift lever is GM, Chryslers point up to the floor board and have the TV shaft running through the gear lever shaft. Pan shape, no NSS on the trans, etc.

The integrated dust cover transmission pan is curious, does appear to be a gear vendors OD on the back.

I do think TH400/or one of its variants is right (th375/475).

@calmtspot have any pictures of the engine itself? (Not for identifying the trans). A good picture of the transmission pan looking straight up should help clear things up.

From what little I can see of the pan, it is possibly a T400 that looks to have a Gear Vendors overdrive unit attached to it.

Is the engine sitting straight up in the bay, or slightly canted?

Hard to tell much from the pictures, except for the OD unit

I have seen pics of a th400 pan that is heavy cast aluminum with an integrated converter dust cover, this could be one.
