I've run across some nice used wheels lately, and I'm curious as to the crossover of the GM 8-lug wheels on my C20. Are the ford/dodge rims the same lug pattern and offset? What would be the widest rim advisable? Not necessarily looking to go wide, but have seen some sweet stuff for the money in the 17x8ish inch variety. Thanks!

The bolt pattern on these trucks is 8x6.5, all Dodges/Chevys have the same pattern BUT ferd swapped from 8x6.5 to 8x170mm in 99'. Any ferd wheels prior to 99' will fit. Theres a couple guys on another forum who run 17x10's no issue but I have no clue what backspacing they run... Theres also a guy on here with a grey 3/4 ton round eye with aftermarket 18's.

edit: that guys username is 78 Chevyrado

New model Chevy and Dodges also went to 8x170 in the last couple of years.

Yup. Chevy changed in '11 I think, but I don't know when Dodge did.

I hate this subject because I had a set of H2 Hummer wheels that I was going to run on my '79. Guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Wish I wouldn't have sold them now. They had that old Turbine (?) look. Like the one on Buckets Blazer in his sig. They measured 17x8.5 I believe. From the pics I saw the tires sat about flush with a square body fender. Would have been perfect. Damn it!
