So guys what would I need to grab to convert my 1991 suburban from the 700r4 to the 4l80e from the junkyard. I believe I would need just the transmission, transfercase, wiring harness, and the computer. Is there anything else that I'm not thinking of?

You can simply replce the input gear with a 32 spline shaft for about $150 or get the rebuild kit for $120 and another $100 for the 32 spline input gear. That will give you new bearings and seals and shift fork pads and then you can fix anything else you see wrong while your at it.

Problem is if you pay more then $100 for a used one and then you end up having to go through that one anyways it doesn't make sense financially.

Well I figured I would just grab the transfer case that is on the 4L80E so I don't have to change anything over

This is a 4L80E/241 truck at the North Portland Pick-n-Pull. Maybe all those goodies are still there. :waytogo: Probably the one you're getting it out of, isn't it? haha

I need to get caught up, been way too busy.

Yeah I got the driver side power mirror bracket off of it. Got my reel light off of it and got the computer out of it yesterday.

I'd love to find a 5.7/4l80e square body harness and computer, for the same conversion your doing.

I could also be interested in your 241 from behind the 700 if your willing sell at reasonable price.
