Can someone tell me the diameter of the 4X4 sticker on the cap for the autolocking hubs? Mine is all faded and I want to get something made to clean it up, I like auto hubs and they work fine, so I just want to clean up the caps and resticker them. I would go measure it, but the damn thing is buried about in snow about 500' from my back door. I am getting all my parts together so as soon as it thaws I can go to town on the truck.

They are painted embossed tin, you could probably do a fine job restoring them with a little patience.

Mine work fine. You just back up to get it out of 4x4. It locks in fine.

sorry. the ones I have seen either don't lock when they are supposed to, or don't unlock when you need them to. put on manual hubs. be done with it. highdesertranger

No need to get out in the cold mud snow when they work great.

I don't have to get out to lock my manual hubs when I need them, I lust leave them locked if there's a chance I might need them. So basically they stay locked all winter.

My previous experiences with auto hubs told me they were crap. Unreliable and always trying to get me stuck, then trying to engage while driving down the road in July.

I just bought one with auto hubs and they work perfect... for now.

True, but it doesn't hurt anything (assuming everything is in good condition). If we are ever going to be on the freeway for a while, I'll go ahead and unlock them.
