Hello all and merry Christmas!
I sold the old 84 long bed and purchased a 85 1500 short box for Christmas " for me".
It has a 454 in it and want to order headers, but looks way to tight to fit. I have several things to fix on this truck. Speedo doesn't work, leaks oil like crazy, wires just hanging all over under the hood. Im fairly new to all of this but I do enjoy the challenges.
Any advice would be great. Thank y'all

There are lots of per application headers available for squares but they do hang a little low for a 2wd. I’ve read multiple times, but never verified, that first gen Camaro headers fit well and are tucked up higher in the frame - I don’t know if these car headers force you to cut the bellhousing corners.

Early to mid 70s Nova. Point straight back, sit just under the bell, are high enough to not drag the ground on a lowered C series, swept back enough to clear the lower control arms. Trans crossmember will be in the way unless swapped to an aftermarket double hump version.
Starter will be a pain to swap as the passenger side will have to be removed to get it out.

This is the small block version 1 3/4 with 3" collector and 3" pipe that sits in the same place.

'68+ Nova big block headers fit very well. They clear a factory dual exhaust crossmember just fine, but a single exhaust style crossmember will need modified or replaced.

i have a 427 bbc in my 84 and the headers i run are patriot mid length headers for a 70-72 chevelle, with 1 and 7/8 primary tubes. i bought them from JEGS or summit in 2002 and there still in good shape. i think the part number is 8013. check them out.

1968-1972 Nova headers.
Fit like champs.
They sit higher up than the crossmember.
No scrubbin' your collectors if you are lowered.

My truck.
Manual transmission.
No issues.

Ignore the flex tube.
We were being lazy.
That is also the stock crossmember.
