I’m sorry I don’t have any info but I’m interested about the truck. It’s an ‘85 with a 4.3 and 3spd on the column? I never would have thought that would have been available.

2wd or 4wd?

That combo was available in G10 vans as well.

The spring in the column shifter is pretty common to bend or break on those. You can usually find replacements on eBay or from squarebody parts sellers. Try searching for “GM 3-speed column shifter spring”. Keeping it original shouldn’t be a problem

I think a wrecking/junk yard is going to be your best bet, unless you know someone with a junker on their property that they're willing to part with the column and/or that spring. If you find a truck or van with that setup, I's suggest grabbing the entire column for extra spare parts.

Several years ago I went to Harry's in Hazleton ...mammoth with vin # that you can print from home to make a list ....

At the time I wondered if that was the biggest you pick it on the east coast.
(No professional help though . .. like those with staff and plasma cutters to make quick paid work of what maybe impossible with a battery sawzall)

Do you have a picture of it? I have some column shift parts from my 83, I can look and see if I have the spring if I can see what it looks like.
