Assuming you're talking front of course. All that I'm aware of are IFS. GM has been IFS front axles since 60 that I am aware of in light duty truck models. In the 60's torsion bar was used on some half tons, but 3/4 tons were A arm & coils like the squares are. Unless there is something rare that I'm not thinking of or know about.

Last time I saw a 3/4 ton with a solid I-Beam front axle and leafs was my gradpop's old International pickup he restored years ago. It was a squarebody, not the front bubble fenders. 60's or 70's? I kept wondering about lifting it, lol...

I'm thinking 50's series trucks had the I-Beam axle. I saw a '60 with independent torsion bar suspension. I think in '63 they went to independent coil suspension. I know the front on my '65 C20 is the same as the front on my '81 C20, with the only difference being the '65 came with drum brakes so the ball joints and spindles are different. Other than that you cannot tell a difference.
