I found out earlier today while I was cleaning up the "shop" that the soon to be Mrs brown can't get up in the s10 :hahano:

So I guess I'm gonna need to build a step on that too!

Haha! Me and her has been been trapped up in the house for going on 3 or 4 years now, I'm building this shenanigan so me and her and my crew can all go trail riding. At Uwharrie national forest here in NC and maybe up in west Virginia.

We used to take full size's up and go riding, but everyone's making a return with jeeps, Toyotas and my s10... And as it turns out, everyone is just running 33" tire or so rigs... I'm the only **** that seems to be getting together the "all out" rig with the 1 tons and 39.5s

When my wife used to drive our lifted Suburbans daily, she kept a plastic stool with a rope tied to it. That way, my mother in law could climb in, then pick up the stool with the rope.

Are you going to try running the stock master cylinder? The pedal might be very soft with a lot of travel. The 1-ton brakes might be happier with a larger cylinder pushing them.

Its something I definitely considered, I'm concerned about alot of things, but the money has ran out for now.
I dropped a small fortune in axles, tires, parts and all to get this far.

Im worried about braking and dinky yokes (t case side)

Makes me wonder if my parts burb booster and master cylinder will bolt up? I could have a little better brake power

Since I've learned a np208 from a Full size will go behind a s10 4l60e, I'm gonna take a big assumption and say a full size 88+ drivers drop np241 will go behind the s10's 4l60e. If it will I wouldn't have to worry about cheesy little yokes snapping so much

Well that was easy enough for an hour or 2 worth of work.

Pinion is pointed up as at the right angle now where there's a decent amount of yoke ear clearance.

I don't know about all of you, but generally when I plan things, I think of the larger details

Axles, tire size, lift, necessary brackets, steering, what t case, etc etc etc.

NEVER DID IT CROSS MY MIND THESE TIRES CAME OFF A BUGGY RUNNING A CHEVY 60!

FOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now I'm gonna have to run wheel spacers I guess.

Just use turning brakes like a dune buggy.
You will be fine...
A very well known member of the community here is helping me out and sending some wheel spacers to fix the issue at hand. I'll have to shorten the range of steering just a tad and run spacers, but it'll be fine. I'm not trying to do performance driving.

It'll extend the life of the u joints too.

OK, so I finally had some time to get back to this shitbox.

I had been prepping my trailer I bought for pulling and such. Attached a 9k winch, then found a nice toolbox to put on the tongue, got a smoking deal on a HD 950cca battery for 100$ because the store manager at O'Reilly is my buddy.

Trailer is all put together, except a tap from the 7 pin plug to charge the battery... I'll get that done soon.

So first off, I pulled the old s10 master cylinder off, replaced it with a spare full size cylinder I had. You can see the difference in size.

Then I pulled the old sloppy steering box out, to replace it with a nice smooth, no slop box I picked up, that came with a 2" drop pitman arm.

From that point, while the box was out, I went ahead and Sawed out a section of the original IFS crossmember that would've been obstructing crossover steer.

"new" ps box is in, torqued down.

Now I'm prepping to install a new ps pump (I bypassed it years ago because it locked up)

I get my pulley tool out, press the pulley off, and low and behold, now I see why the bastard locked up! Haha! Look at it! I've never seen one that tore up.

Either way, it's a core for a new unit at 60$

Clear line of sight from the Pitman to where the arm I haven't yet will go.
That was the point in sawing off the old section of the crossmember..

Second photo you'll see how it would interfere.

Wouldnt have been much interference, but still would be an issue.

The trailer, not that it really pertains to the sas, but I needed it to pull the s10.
