I will tell you this. Get a volt meter and read your battery voltage, then alternator output, then distribution block, then fuse block inside... how often can you trust someone's word when buying a vehicle? If your dash volt meter is correct.. Your alternator is putting out max voltage. And yes the positive wire can go bad just like that in a flash doesn't take a second. The fact that you had to jump it to get started is a red flag. If your still experiencing the same thing... Well there you have it.

Also it could have been just barely hanging on and then you went and moved it when you changed the starter and that was it for your cable

Alright, i replaced ground because it needed to be replaced anyways, ill replace the positive cable now too.
And, i didnt actually have to jump it, i just saw it was only getting 8 volts at cranking, so i thought i had to. ended up just being the cold wether and the lack of my choke not being hooked up, i am hooking it up when i get a chance though.

Just my main question now:
Is it ok to drive like this? Can i hurt anything? According to the stock voltmeter, its not quite in the red zone, close but not quite, so i'd assume its fine.

Ok, i'll replace the positive cable in the morning.

If thats not the problem, then what could it be?

And, the voltmeter i used (I cant get a pic to upload) i couldnt read, but at the bottem there was a place where there was a replace zone and a good zone, itsin the replace zone. But, i have good voltage to everything(Even if its a little high), and its a new battery in the past year

Very possible. I changed two a alternators and a starter b4 replacing the positive batt cable. But that way my situation. I just couldn't get past the fact the cable "looked good" :-(

Oh it will also make the ignition switch fail... right when you don't want it to. If your alternator is bad let me know I got one I rebuilt just b4 my cs swap. Maybe 10k on it :)

We sure are throwing a lot of parts at something that may not be broken. Where's the readings from a meter? The factory gauge may be off, most of them are not very accurate at all.
