    HELP. 350 abc starter binding.

Just had to give her some more juice! 120 ML (60 in each) of gasoline manually inserted into the fuel bowl vents got her going. Now I’m working on the fuel blockage I’ve got. Not getting any gas to the carb :/

    HELP. 350 abc starter binding.

We almost got her running guys! Sorry for the long wait, but I got me some corona I had to take care of. Had to quarantine and I’m just feeling better now. Basically I just pulled off the starter and re checked the clearance (I do have the right bolts for it) I gave the battery a good charge...

    HELP. 350 abc starter binding.

I’ve tested the battery, it’s at 12 so I think it’s okay. And the starter was bench tested at the auto store. Both the starter and the battery seem to be fine which makes this pretty weird to me.

    HELP. 350 abc starter binding.

Hello everyone! Feels good to be back after a pretty long break. Summer is brutal in AZ and it’s just starting to cool down. ANYWAY so I’ve got an issue. I have a 1988 gmc suburban 2500 with a 350 sbc and th400. I always like to run the truck a couple times a week to keep up on it. Well about a...

    Starter Support Bracket

Does anyone know the size/thread type of the bolt for the starter bracket to engine block on an 88 350? Just realized my bracket is mia and there’s no bolt in the block.

    Time to replace the flexplate

She’s out! What I mistook for cracks appears to be a little oil splatter. So my flexplate is NOT cracked. I did notice a wiring harnesses was pinched between the engine and trans near the top of the bell housing. I believe the flexplate was hitting that causing the noise I was hearing.

    Transmission removal/install

Thanks! I’ll make sure to double check this time around. Should be pulling her today.

    Transmission removal/install

if you're removing the entire unit as whole, is this still relevant? is it possible for the torque converter to become unseated on its own during removal? last time i pulled my th400 out i kept the converter in and just bolted everything right back up.

    Time to replace the flexplate

Main concern right now is step 1. Last time I did this it was in a level area so I didn’t have to worry about the truck moving when I yanked out the rear driveshaft. Now I’m on a bit of an incline. I’ve got the parking break set and I’m gonna chock the wheels. Feeling confident.

    Time to replace the flexplate

All set up and ready to go...again. Replaced the flexplate about 30 miles ago but my dumbass never torqued the bolts to specs and surprise, it cracked! Starting up again today, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys. Gonna have to figure a few things out so it might be awhile. Once I get to it I’ll make sure to start a thread.

    Noise Coming From TC/Flexplate

Just got deep in that sh*t pile with a flashlight and yes the flexplate is cracked. Makes sense, I changed it out myself not too long ago. Seeing as how it was my first time and I did it solo I was surprised it went so well lol looks like ima have another go around. Any tips to avoid this my...

    Noise Coming From TC/Flexplate

I’m gonna have to. Just got under her with the inspection cover off and it’s definitely coming from the flexplate area. Now that I’m listening it’s more of a squeaking sound?? This’ll be fun.

    Noise Coming From TC/Flexplate

Dealing with this same situation right now. Just made itself apparent today. Haven’t checked for an exhaust leak but I’m really hoping that’s all it is.

    DIY snorkel intake

And BOOM! You’re done. Total cost was a little shy of $300. I haven’t run it through water yet but I’ve driven quite a bit and it hasn’t loosened up. Very fun build. It’s a bit different but then again so am I I’m only 19 so I’ve got plenty of time to regret it later. Thanks for reading through...

Connect ducting from elbow to filter(make sure you attach it as you would if the filter was not in the metal housing. in other words make sure you don’t hook it up to the filter backwards.) then run ducting from the other end of the filter housing to the dual plenum (spectre 9859) zip tie to...

    DIY snorkel intake

Now for the main filters I used spectre 8136 cone filters. I fitted the filters inside two 7”-4” reducers that were bound with duct tape. Then electrical tape and finally epoxied over. I riveted some rubber sheet on the inside so it starts at the lip of the reducer then meets the metal base of...

    DIY snorkel intake

Sorry I’m late. Works been hell lol. I finally finished the project and I’ve got to say I like em. Definitely homemade and definitely not perfect but damn it’s original at least. I started out with 3 of the 4” 90 degree elbows and a length of abs pipe. Connected them all with cement and smaller...

    DIY snorkel intake

This is the basic set up. Some 4” ABS pipe. A couple of 90 elbows, safari head and a TON of electrical tape and enamel. Now I’m just waiting for the enamel to dry (either today or tomorrow) couple finishing touches then the install and post the write up. Thanks for following along!

    DIY snorkel intake

Damn, that's super clean! Arkansas_V8 i had heard of this method before but at the time wasn't financially able to justify the purchase. And since im wanting dual snorkels, twice as expensive and id have to find a different one for each side. I opted to use ABS pipe which is significantly less...
