I'm looking to buy a starter support bracket for my 73 with a small block. The GM number that I have found was 3965589. Is this the correct number?

If this is the one you want, there's also 88.

If the 89 fits our trucks, I believe that's what I need. What I have read was the 88 was for a BB.

I ordered the 3965589 bracket from a local Chevy dealer this morning. $6.97.

Does anyone know the size/thread type of the bolt for the starter bracket to engine block on an 88 350? Just realized my bracket is mia and there’s no bolt in the block.

I'm fairly certain that the support bracket was put to pasture sometime in the late 70's or early 80's when the starters began to decrease in size.

Looks like the starter bracket on my '86 6.2 blazer.

If my feeble old brain is still working, I recall it was a 3/8-16 x 3/4" bolt.
Might have been a 1/2" long.
