    Dual Steering stabilizer?

It came with everything to mount it inline. Has the bracket that bolts to the axle and 2 brackets and u bolts for the tie rods. With the bracket pushed all the way against the diff housing, it says to extend the stabilizer 4.5 inches and mount the tie rod brackets. The passenger side is fine...

    Dual Steering stabilizer?

I bought a Rough Country dual steering stabilizer setup. According to pics, it's inline. But the instructions say to install the one for the passenger side with the brackets provided and the driver side installs in stock location. Looks stupid IMO. I tried to install it inline but the driver...

    Gauges and bright/dim switch

After alot of searching I found what I needed on the dimmer switch. I actually went off in my works junkyard and tore down a late 80s camaro column to see how it worked. I was missing the dimmer rod actuator. Ordered a new one and got it all back together and working.

    shock advice

I'm ballin on a budget. I just got my k5 going and working out the rest of the bugs. I'm gonna give the 4 inch lift acdelco shocks on rockauto a shot and see how they turn out. 31 bucks each. Or has anyone tried those yet? The rear shocks are busted so I gotta do something pretty quick lol.

    Ball joints

Has anyone ever used Mevotech Terrain Tough ball joints? Just curious how good they are. I usually use Moog stuff but thought about giving the others a try.

    Alternator wiring?

Sorry it took so long to respond. Didn't realize the factory connector on the 98 is 1 wire. It was an oval shaped 4 pin connector but only had 1 wire actually in it. Got the engine dropped in, got a pigtail for the alternator out my works junkyard and connected it the 84s brown 'exciter' wire...

    Gauges and bright/dim switch

There's a rod that connects to it somehow. The actual switch is mounted about half way down the column.

    700r4 transgo shift kit tips

When I rebuilt my 700r4 I used the Transgo sk700 noyoyo kit, Corvette servo and replaced the accumulator pistons with aluminum. Also had a boost valve upgrade. I got nice firm shifts all the way to 4th. I love it so far

    700r4 vacuum switch?

Just got my 84 k5 going. Has a built 700r4. I don't have tc lockup. All of the factory emissions stuff was deleted prior to me owning it. I've read up on the converter vacuum switch mounted by the brake booster for lockup but have no idea how to go about hooking that up. Vacuum diagram shows it...

    Gauges and bright/dim switch

I have an 84 k5 blazer I'm putting back together that was my grandfather's. Only gauge that I could get to work was the temp. Picked up a cluster, bezel, dash pad and passenger dash trim for 40 bucks from an 89 suburban. Only difference I see was the clock my original gauges had. I installed...

    Trans linkage?

Had intentions on putting the whole setup in my 90 c1500. Don't want the extra expense of converting the trans to a 2wd. It's a low mileage gm replacement so I want to keep it instead of trying to find one already 2wd. Probably wouldn't be able to keep tires on the back. I actually started on...

    Trans linkage?

About to start a project on an 84 k5 blazer. Putting a 6.2 ls and 6l80 trans in. I've searched but haven't really found what I'm looking for. How do I go about hooking up shift linkage? Would like to keep the column shifter but is that possible? It has a 700r4 in it currently. And lastly, will...

    K5 front seat

It has black leather buckets but they are not original. Couldn't even tell you what they came out of. The brackets aren't original either. They were just screwed to the floor with sheet metal screws. The 2nd row bench in that Escalade unlatches from the back side and flips up just like the 3rd...

    K5 front seat

While my k5 is down, I've been addressing the interior. Just built brackets and installed a 3rd row from an 07 Escalade for a back seat. I can get the 2nd row bench free if I want it but not sure of I really want a bench up front. Anyone done this or have pics of one with a bench up front? Would...

New guy with a new project

Thanks. Needs a little work but it's getting there. Most of it is gonna be interior. Exterior is in pretty good shape. Minus a few slight dings. Worst being the one on the front edge of the hood on the driver side. No rust on the body panels, fender wells or frame. Has some around where the...

    Alternator wiring?

No idea. Couldn't tell you the difference. All I know is it's a stock alternator for a 98. It's brand new so I wanted to try to use it.

    Alternator wiring?

I'm about to drop in a vortec 350 from a 98 Chevy 1500 in my 84 k5. Swapped the intake for a carb setup. Im keeping the serpentine setup that came with it. Only problem I see so far is alternator wiring. The vortec alternator has a 4 pin connector. Is there a way to convert it to make it work...

New guy with a new project

Hello all! New guy here. Also have a new project I'm working on. Hopefully I'll find some useful info here. I tend to lean towards a forum for help when I need it on a vehicle. So here I am. I acquired a 84 K5 Blazer from my grandfather. Long story short, he had a sale deal go south and it got...

2012 Yukon 3rd row K5 seat swap bracket

Just built my brackets Tuesday for a 3rd row out an 07 Escalade. Done mine with 2x2x1/8 angle and 1/2 inch rod. Got the plans from Merricks. Drilling actually didn't take long at all with a drill press. Total time was about 1.5-2 hours to build them. In my case height won't be an issue. I may...
