Yes, that would work. In fact, I once installed an EZ Wiring kit and that's exactly what they recommend -- a second wire for higher output alternators. Heck, American Autowire kits include 6 ga wire and 175 amp Megafuse! Haven't been able to figure out that math, but they said they came up with it with the help of Littlefuse.

When installing a fusible link, there are some instructions you should follow. Some were included with a Pico fusible link that I used a while back, but I can't find them. There are plenty of YouTube videos, so at least one or two will be correct!
