Evening Gents,
I know that the gen 1 SBC's can use something like a 1999 to 2000-ish small mini starter. I've looked around and I can't seem to find a AC Delco Part number to cross reference for this upgrade. Does anyone happen to know the part number or the part numbers I'm looking for? Just for clarification, I'm not looking for an aftermarket unit, just a Delco stater.

DB out of Tennessee lists this one as on the applications list to 1972-1994.

(...them and Maniac out of Texas are two US brands that sell known good starters / alternators that are close to OEM spec)

did not get a copy of the link there,...vs. a electric mower.

those DB things are warehoused in many states, so you can have it freight free in 2 days, no core. (as...they don't recycle / rebuild junk like the parts stores to sell and break again when it was half fixed but bench tested OK).

Only "GM Style starters" I'll use depending on tooth count needed. Most of the "Delco" listed starters from most parts stores are remans by who knows who most likely done over seas.

The 168 tooth version spins my 11.5:1 388 as if it was a stock compression engine. I went thru two "Delco's" from Advance first lasted 2 months the second burned up after about 5-6 starts.

I've been using a Summit brand high torque mini starter for a few years now, works great. Obviously no idea who actually makes it but no complaints.
