Good to know. What about some old school Goodyear Eagle GT+4’s?
I dont remember those, they must've not been very popular around here.
I also likes the old school WOL Uniroyal Laredos that came on the squarebody S-10’s/S-15’s. They were a good looking tire.
Both front and rear are the Laredos but might not be the same as youre talking about. The rears dont have all those lines and junk on the sidewalls but the other side has white letters

I had a couple sets of those, they were great tires. Wish they still made them. Especially the outlined white letter version.

I believe the Eagle GT's came on the Monte Carlo SS's. They were great tires but sucked in any kind of wet conditions. So the GT+4's fixed that problem.

While driving home from work last Friday, my old truck just died leaving from a light. I barely made it into a parking lot out of the traffic. I thought great you ran out of gas, but no the truck just died like I turned off the key. I try cranking it back up and it just turns over, then nothing. I hear the starter solenoid clicking but nothing else. I figured the starter got hot. It's never done it before, but you never know. I look under the hood for any obvious issues. None that I see. I call AAA and get it towed home.

I check the battery the next day and it's dead. It's from 2020 doesn't owe me a thing. I replace the battery and still nothing just the click. I'm off to store to buy a starter. Replace the starter and now it cranks over again but still no start. I find a couple of blown fuses. Replace them and still no start. I hook up my spark tester and verify no spark.

I have an MSD 6AL box and coil. I read the trouble shooting section and check it out. The box flashes that it has power, so must be the coil. I check the coil with an ohm meter, and it appears shorted. Hence the blown fuse. I replace the coil and still nothing.

I trouble shoot some more and guess the box is also bad. I ordered one today and boy am I lucky they are on sale only 320.00.

So, I am now into this for over 700.00. OUCH! It has been trouble free for over 6 years so I guess it was just time for all of it to fail.

Threw a distributor back in it and fired it up for the first time in two years.

Sounds like a dead short to me. I'd find it before installing a $320 part.

Way a min... @legopnuematic why's there a Thermoquad on a GM engine??
Shhhhh…

It’s a 625 Street Demon, definitely shares some design cues and similarities to ye olde Thermoquad. Which is part of the reason I was curious to try it.

All I’ve done was bolt it onto the intake and hook the fuel line up. Might have adjusted the idle speed a touch, haven’t touched the mixture screws. Not bad so far.

Besides if we want to get down to it, Quadrajets ended up on small block Chryslers, and Carter made Quadrajets for Rochester when Rochester could not keep up with demand. So in a way it’s like extended family. Right?

Brake cleaner gets it done too. Works on lots of things.

Brake cleaner. It's not just for brakes any more.
Wasp spray will make cockroaches buttholes blow out, well the stuff made in the late 90s-early 2000s did. New stuff may not. Haven't bought any in decades

Yeah, Eagle GT came on Camaros, Montes, 2wd S10's and some sporty fwd's too. I believe the +4's didn't come along until the early 90's. The GT+4 came original on my dad's Bonneville SSE in '93.

Speaking of old Goodyears, you might appreciate these ones I found (in a ditch) a few weeks ago. They are "Eagle M+S" snow tires in the Iroc/GTA size. "V" speed rated too!

The date code is either '88 or '98.

I worked at a local garage in the late 90's. The trash cans were always full of empty beer cans and bottles. And maggots, lol. Anyways, bees would often hover over them. A quick spray with brake clean and they would die immediately and fall to the floor.

Not so with today's brake clean... they just keep flying. I'd imagine that wasp spray now is the same, because it doesn't kill wasps as fast at all anymore. It might be "cockroach safe".
