I don't like that it's painted white, but I absolutely love this van. I've pulled several loads with it now, in the 9-11k range and it handles it so well. The van is just so dang useful and the mpg isn't horrid either. And it's comfortable too. I think I've nearly put 11k miles on it now. I finally got around to charging the AC yesterday and it blows nice and cold.

So, van update time. I bought some ambulances a while back. Sold two of them, still have two. One has been a daily driver since this past fall.

My son broke the transmission in his C1500 a while back, so he started driving the yellow van everyday. My wife then stole my white van from me and it's been on kid hauling duty. But more recently, the little 4.8L in the yellow van went south and we parked it for now. I'm hoping to find a 6.0 for it. So since my son still needs something to drive, he stole my ambulance from me.

The white van needed tires and brakes again, so I just stole the wheels and tires from the yellow van. I put some vintage rollers on the yellow van for now:

I must say, I really like the look. Powder coat the wheels, buy new 12-16.5's, add some orange and red stripes, maybe some sidepipes... yeah, that'd be awesome. The problem is finding new 12-16.5 tires.

The rear barn door release handle had broke on the white van. The linkage pivot had broken off. Reparing it was super simple. I drilled out the center and tapped it to 1/4" thread, then threaded in a stainless allen bolt to act as a stud. Then it was just a matter of bolting the linkage back on with a nyloc nut and washer. It was a super easy fix.

They are very very close to the Jackman design. There is a thin perimeter ring around the rim center that is welded, rather than just welded spoke tips like a Jackman. Durability is closer to that of a modern "wagon" wheel, but the look is more like a spoked Jackman.

Oh yeah I see the difference now. I’m glad you pointed out the trailer tires, I was looking at the Camaro and scratching my head lol.

Imo, those were some of the best mud terrains they ever made. Great classic look, good road manners, and they dug like crazy. I hate that you can’t really get a “classic” mud terrain pattern anymore.

I feel the same about the all terrain tread. I miss the old sidewall design.

I second that!!! One of the best tires i ever had nexta dunlop mud rovers. Im runnin the bfg mud terr. km3 on my s10 currently.

The ones Ted posted are even pre- KO. They still say "Radial" in the name.
