I heard a guy once say he was breast fed by Dolly Parton. Then he woke up.

:happy175::happy175::happy175:

have a couple of old CB radios and an old base station that was left in the house next door that I bought. {the property}
I been thinking of installing one in the 2000 K3500 since it is the road truck.
I need to hang an antenna and see if any ofum works before installation.

Since Craigslist got rid of the personals section, CB's are invaluable at truck stops. So I hear...

Be good to let people know where the herds of zombies are. Lol

Used to use them in 80's. Haven't sense then.

I use to really be into radios when I was a kid. My truck has always had one, a couple years ago I found a brand new in the box high dollar base antenna. I bought it, my wife saw it in the garage and asked what I planned to do with it. She replied it will look terrible on the house. One day when I was home and she was gone, her brother helped me set it up. It was on the house for almost a week before anyone noticed it. How “terrible” could it be?! I think it’s a 18 foot whip, on a 25 foot pole, bolted to the second story eve of the house. It’s pretty tall. I set up one of my mobile radios in the garage, when conditions are good I could talk all over the country.

Back when I had disposable income, and no kids (doesn’t that mean the same?) I use to snowmobile a couple times a month. There would be about 15 of us, in 4 trucks, hauling all the sleds and gear to the UP. This was before mobile phones were common. We always used CBs to talk, made it easy to discuss who needed gas, food, bathroom, run interference if someone needed to change lanes, whatever. Sometimes old school works best.

I like the placement of it. I was trying to figure out where to put mine as I didn't really want to drill into the dash but at this point I know this truck is mine for life so do what I want with it, right? Just need to find out where a whip looks good on a Suburban...I don't have a roof rack yet

Most people mount it under the stereo, but I didn't care for that. Too close to the gas pedal. The way I mounted it still allows the ash tray to open and close without any issues also
