I'm fixin to try the seafoam in my crankcase because I noticed some sludge when I had the valve covers off. Never used it does it do what it says?

Anyone that's used it I'd like to hear what you thought about it's performance on cleaning the engine oil up or not.

Ive used it on my gmt400 but i didnt put it in the oil, i sucked it in through the vaccum system. I didnt come to a positive conclusion on it.

Diesel or #2 heating oil in small amounts works, just don't leave it in too long. If you want to throw caution to the wind, use kerosene.

I have never tried Seafoam in the crankcase, but have had good results with running it in the gas tank. I also like to use Marvel Mystery Oil in my gas. I have a buddy that runs MMO in his crankcase.

I use seafoam alot on bikes, but in the gas. It seems to clean out most of that white sh*t from sitting with gas in them. A bike usually will run better after a taste of seafoam. Still gotta drob the bowl n clean the accelerator pump every year on my harley tho:33:

Someone once told me to use marvel in the trans to free sticky valves... idk i never did but

I use sea foam in my gas every couple of months. If you want to use it in the oil I would suggest just running it right before your oil changes.

I’ve never had a problem with it, seems to work good as well. The vacuum way, you can tell it’s doing stuff, the truck will start smoking out the tailpipes, it clears up after a decent drive. So it’s doing something lol.

I feel like I’ve seen a test of sea foam and similar products on a YouTube video or two

About 36 yrs ago I poured 4 qts of oil and 1 qt of kerosene in the crankcase of a 360 Ford. Ran in very low rpms for Half hour and then drained. Wow it was black. Cleaned that engine out. Don't know if I'd ever do that again though.

I love MMO. Seafoam i good stuff as well. I also think it is best used through the vacuum to hot soak your intake runners, and the 'Deep Creep' through the throttle body during the hot soak. For the crankcase cleaning, you can use the Seafoam, but you can also use one of the Oil Flush products off the shelf. I like the one in the gray bottle from Motor Medic, or Berryman Oil Flush are the only ones I typically use.

Just before your oil change, add the product to your crankcase (no need to drain any as you are not to drive with this in your crankcase). With the Motor Medic, it says to let run for 5 minutes, while the Berryman says run to operating temperature.

Personally, I do this every few oil changes, as I use a quality oil, and I drain the oil out without changing the filter, add a clean oil plus the flush, and follow the instructions.

I do this when I first get a vehicle since I definitely don't know how it was qreviously cared for. It is crazy because the clean oil comes out just as dirty as the oil I had just taken out.

I thought about getting a dual fuel setup for another sbc vehicle since I get propane for $1 a gallon. Any kits you recommend?

Unless there is technology I don't know of, I would never recommend dual fuel. Your engine would need different timing for each fuel, so traditionally dual fuel is a compromise and you lose doesn't mater which fuel you use.
I only have experience with old school 'open loop' systems. There is closed loop systems feeding liquid pane to injectors. These kits have a second computer to interface with your existing computer. I know a few guys who did this mod some years ago and they still run them, trouble free and awesome!
Best imo is simple, cheap and reliable open loop systems and build the engine with lots of compression. 10.5 to one at least. You need a cam with wide LSA and (now reaching the end of my cam knowledge) and the event that closes the intake valve early to actually build compression.
The compression will make up for loss of power due to the lower BTU's of pane.
