Agreed, looks really good. Nice install, is that a different top hose or did the older one stretch?

New top hose because it's so much longer. Re-used the lower hose though.

Makes sense, I was thinking you might have been running the standard 454 radiator before this one, couldn't remember what the top hose looked like.

Really nice install though , that v1500 is a capable machine.

Really nice install though , that v1500 is a capable machine.

I was running the standard 4 row, 454 radiator, and it uses the same top hose as the standard 3 row 350 radiator......which is what I'd upgraded from about 2 years ago. But this long radiator is so much longer, there's no way that shorter top hose will reach.

The NAPA hose has that strange bend as it goes across the fan shroud. The original GM hose was just long and straight, with with an elbow where it turned and went rearward to the block.

I put new calipers, pads, master cylinder along with a dress up kit on the k5 and have been driving it a lot. Haven't done anything to the 87 haven't even drove it in a week or two.

Test fit and tacked up my X-pipe and rear extensions for the exhaust on my crewcab. Just waiting on my new trans crossmember to build out the rest.

Dodged a bullet today. Thought my heater core was leaking in the 84 C20. Just a pin hole in the heater hose. Cut it off about an inch and reattached. Good as new. Saved a **** of work with that good news.

Pistons were pretty burnt, but the soaked up the oil that got into the cylinders so it's hard to tell

Anybody seen this new Tach offering from LMC? There's an early years style font offered as well.

They just dropped me an email of "new products," it looks nice. Could be another alternative for a Tach upgrade?

I had one from Classic Industries (same thing...) and was not impressed with the stamping at all. The bends and corners were not anywhere near as crisp and sharp as the factory tach I have. This threw off the mounting hole locations so far it could not be used as is. I decided to not use it and sent it back. I didn't feel like trying to bend it to make it work and risk rendering it inoperable. Others results may vary.

The other tach option with the gas gauge is still a good way to go. If you were to get this tach from LMC, you would still need to get a small gas gauge to go in it's proper spot. And if you have a clock there, there goes your clock. HTH

Good to know, I've had my eye on the other one with the included fuel gauge too. That one looks great and I know some on here have had a good experience with it.

I can tell it really needs the plastic sector gear replaced too but I didn't want to get that deep into it today and couldn't find the part locally so I got it all back together and operational with a real key now instead of broke key and a screwdriver.
