Tightened the left front wheel because for some reason it loosened up. Loose wheel is bad news.

saw a guy earlier in the week on my way to work on the side of the rode cuz he'd lost the wheel on his driver's side rear on his gmt400 burb  his drum dragged the ground several feet before he could stop  Not sure where the wheel went as I didn't see it in the middle of the road or up on the median :happy175:

Got my headers and exhaust off, along with labeling and untangling the engine bay harness... would've had my motor and tranny ready to come out if it weren't for this damn 30 degree weather and frost bite.

Serious.. That would be insane.
I always have weird flashes like that when Im cruising down the road.. My brain goes, how crazy would it be if either a wheel just snapped off and went rolling away or if I go to hit the brakes and get absolutely nothing but a drop to the floor.

I might have some mental things going on... :idiot:

It happened to me 10 years ago. I had a almost brand new maxima that I bought after graduating college and getting my first real job. I bought aftermarket wheels and all season tires from Sears for the winter because I had a long commute. They couldn't balance the tires. Finally after going back 3x they got it. I was driving a week later home from work and the vibration came back. I sped up and it went away and then I got off the highway. All of sudden it got really bad and I immediately tried to pull over.

Didn't quite make it. At about 20 mph the left rear wheel fell off and the car dropped on the rotor. Nobody was hurt so it was kind of funny. The wheel went down a four lane road inbetween cars for a couple of hundred yards and then went into an intersection and down the wrong way. It was dusk so you could see lights veering out of its way. The guy behind me went after the tire, retrieved it and then brought me to a dealer where I had it fixed. Sears paid for everything but I still have an issue with vibrations. Last night I was driving my truck and felt a little vibation. Pulled over and checked the lug nuts. I torque my lugs more than most people check their air pressure.

Worked on the C10 after work again, besides the crew cab, I now have a fleet of black trucks. I just couldn't take the white lower paint any longer. Tomorrow I need to replace the radiator.

As Ron White would say "that technician must of missed class on lug nut day". Lol. I had mine come off of my 98z71 making a turn in the turn around of my bank. I felt like an idiot. Went back to the tire shop and they gave me a new rim, tire and wheel studs
