Standard....had a can lying around doing nothing. Some BBQ might have been better...we'll see

It looks really nice. Hopefully it holds up.

Todays project was going to be: replace the crappy fuel lines the PO used.....or so I thought....

The OE set up has a set of pre-bent hard lines comming off the fuel rail going under the alt, kicking out to the the driver side of the block and connecting with rubber lines that run back to hard lines in the pass side frame rail.

The hand bent lines you see were what was used to go from the fuel rail to the rubber lines. Add to it, those rubber lines were toast. I couldnt come up with a set of OE hard lines, at least that were'nt too $$ to run under the alt to the rubber (which I was going to replace with new rubber) so I decided to do SS all the way to the lines in the frame rail.....with the expectation of someday going as far back as possible to the tank.

Not having much experience in this area apparently I ordered SS P.T.F.E lines and the fittlings I odered wont work with them even though the hose size is the same -6AN?

Im having a hell of a time getting them to lock the hose down..... guessing I need to re-order SS rubber lines?

My LT-1 intake elbow came in today as well. And....as if my day wasnt already going to crap I mounted it up and it doesnt look like its going to work. I tried mounting it both ways and there just isnt enough clearance either way:

And to top it off, the upper rad hose it pieced up is going to need to be re-done....the air filter wont fit with it routed that way.


Today was a bust!!

You need to lose the mechanical fan and go with dual electric. No more parts fighting for space.

Elbow hits alt bracket and belt tensioner either side.

Fan complicates rad hose placement.

I got some more TBI equipment today,I just love that stuff,Now I needs to figure out how it all is going to work.LOL

My Bud Rick learning about differentials,He knows nothing about mechanics so I point at a wrench and tell Him,That one is next,LOL.He is a fast learner though,at least He does`nt sniff the air any more when I tell Him that I think I smell a propane leak.LOLOLOL
This one is going under His 1/2 ton GMC,converting it to 8 holerz.

Finally got my hydro booster rebuilt...

This was the mess I found when I popped it open...

Got the new fittings in this AM. Was a PITA getting them hooked up to the fuel rail, but once I did I realized I couldnt route them the same way as OE. As you can see its pretty tight in there:

Being as the lines are SS I said why hide them? So I routed them like this:

Just have zip-ties on them until I can find something classy'ier. Best part about it is that I have enough line to go all the way back to the fuel filter - minimizing the connections inbetween. Starting to look like a motor again:

52mm TB on the way, new junction box due any day, bolt in T'stat, upper-lower hoses, ECM programmed, hook the battery up and start this pig!

Today: Fix the diff vent tubes.

Rear was pretty tight...no room for droop. Fixed:

The front was another example of PO's awesome work. Vent tube was two pieces of 5/16's matted to hardline near the gear box, back to rubber and ran behind the charcoal canister. I thought it went into it..just attached to the core behind it...WTF?

Here is what I pulled out compared to what I put back on:

I hacked my front vent on the Burb, I just added another piece of hose and a plastic (yes, plastic) coupler. It was supposed to be temporary, but it's held up for years like that.

That actually is quite normal looking for a hydro boost teardown. Just signs of normal wear.

Not under pressure at all, plastic should work just fine. It also doesn't get eaten up by road salt.

Yah the front vent mounts up on the firewall next to the canister. Makes those vent caps easy pickins at the junkyard. It's just a higher position than the frame. Long as you keep your frame out of the water your good.

I was more concerned with ripping it off, it's probably brittle in cold weather.
