I looked it up. Not sure what else you're looking for except static electricity, but I thought that was mentioned. Positive ground? High amp.No stupid questions, only stupid answers. Some were copper, some steel. Both usually flash plated with what ever was used to plate copper wire connectors.

Not the reason, but you are right. Could be handy for jump starts.
