Been thinking of going to a single serpentine belt system with spring loaded tensioner. Talking with the mfg (Marsh) they do not offer such a system for a MKIV big block without also changing to a reverse rotation water pump. If you don’t change pumps you have to settle for a two-belt system (in my case) with no tensioner, as pictured.
Are there any “gotchas” with swapping to a reverse rotation pump? It seems from reading here that they will bolt up fine and don’t affect the coolant flow path but wasn’t sure if any other interfaces were affected. BTW there is no pump-driven radiator fan involved.
