Got the header bolts locking clips finished. Starter, plugs and wires back in. Manual choke cable in. Then, I cranked the truck with it choked and it was so damn loud with open headers I just shut it off. I live in a HOA now and didn’t wanna do that to my neighbors. I’m going to get a friend of mine to tell me out of the neighborhood so I can crank it and let it warm up before I drive it for exhaust.
Pulled the key out of the ignition, starting cleaning up and an hour later realized I couldn’t find the key. I’ve looked literally everywhere. And every toolbox drawer that I put tools in, engine, bay, cab, bed, under the truck, in my work truck, in the house, I took all the contents out of the trashcan outside twice. I’m almost positive. I threw it away because the first thing I did after I took that key out was start picking up small bits of trash like tie wrap ends and stuff. The garbage truck came and picked up last night. It wasn’t until I got home later from a birthday party that I thought I should have metal detected the contents With with my metal detector. I’m almost certain I threw it away. That’s the only place it could be.
In another hour, I’m going to call Bruce’s locksmith in town. I spoke to Carr’s locksmith last night and they said Bruce could make me a key so let’s hope. I hate to have to change out the ignition in both door handles because that one key did all of them. Always something.
