Been polishing this thing trying to get it to clean up some more but at this point I think I may have to do a scuff and shoot , it has a ton of issues up close but from a few feet away it looks good .

Side pipes are the answer! Lol
Honestly I’ve had cheap mufflers come apart pretty quick back in the day and since then I don’t buy cheap mufflers. Especially if they’re welded on.
Flowmasters on the blue truck were date code 1998 when they crapped out a couple years ago. I’ll take that.
lol it got louder....the muffler split where I whacked on it. So not a permanent fix lol.

Somewhere along the summer I lost 10-12 weeks, managed to get focused for half a day and make an effort replacing the right hand knuckle with 3” drop on my c30, cleaned up and repainted the dust shield, hub and wheel then mocked up and installed the Accuride Level sensor, it’s 30°c plus this week again in Edmonton AB likely putting it off again till the wife lets me install a AC for the garage..

Just got the mini split put in Saturday and been working the heck out of it........nothing short of FANTASTIC. Won't see the electric bill for another couple of weeks but I'm sold. My 2 G-sons, Brody and Kooper, got it and installed it for me cause I'm such a GOOD Papa :33: Nah, they said because, I've helped them with a lot if things in their short lives, so far......and I will continue to do that because isn't that what you do?????;) SO, I'll be spending more time in the cool of the shop

Weather here has been unusually gorgeous for August, with crisp mornings, highs right around 80 and mostly sunny skies. Blazer fired right up after we got back from the beach and I have been driving it everyday, enjoying the weather.

Next project will be modifying the fuel lines so the inlet to carb comes up along the firewall at the rear of the engine instead of running to the front of the engine where the fuel pump used to be, only to do a 180 and run back to the carb. But that can wait until the weather gets nasty.

Had my hands full with taking care of a mess of little annoyances. It started with the rattle somewhere in the dash. Found a disconnected brace from the firewall to the bottom of the dash by the ashtray. Replaced two front speakers while I was there and tightened that AC ducts. Then bought a new oil filler cap replacing the old leaky one. Then disassembled the speedometer cable connection at the transfer case, fixing that leak. Then replaced the inop oil pressure sender. Had to go through a couple of wrong replacements. Finally degreasing the mess under the engine area.

So I have had my 1985 K20 Suburban for 31 years. It had 70K on it when I took possession. Now it it getting close to 450K, and it has lived and drove hard on non-paved roads in the Mojave, Sonoran, Death Freekin Valley and the Chihuahuan deserts while I worked in those places. It used to be a USFS truck and was in great condition. Now it is in need of some TLC. So...

At some point whilst in California or Arizona, I noticed the fuel tank skid plate was gone. Someone stole it since if it would have "fallen off", I would have heard/felt it. After looking for years for a replacement, I found one on e-bay. It will go on when I get a chance.

Plus, the Sub never had front mounted recovery hooks. So I fixed that this morning. I ordered a Engineered Vintage shackle bracket. Since I will not, unless there is no other option, buy anything Chinesium, didn't get the shackles from them. Found some slightly used Crosby shackles on e-bay and they should be here tomorrow. Yay!

Made some progress in the cab today! More triming to do, but my vision is getting there. considering a 73 didn't have all those moldings the vinyl floor is looking better. wish I could shrink some of it. The speaker boxes will fill in the corners.
