Well, I've gone and done it. I've bought some more vans, but these ones are Duramax diesel vans. Two are mine, one is waiting on my buddy to pick it up. If I can bag one more of them, then I'll likely keep one of these ones.

So the question is, is a Duramax easier to say do a turbo R&R in a van versus a pickup?

Seems like any rear of engine work in a pickup is pretty diabolical with a Duramax. With a removable doghouse however...

Haven't a clue. I've never really messed with them in either vehicle. Just the Medium duty trucks and pre-def era. Several years ago, I saw one in a junkyard van with the doghouse off... but I don't remember how it looked.

Apparently this LGH is a slightly detuned version of the LML.

Oh yeah, the lights and sirens work on my two. That's fun to play with, lol. Not on the road though, of course.

@bucket -The one with no windows, is it equipped with two alternators / batteries?
Those are great to add hi-power sound systems in them. The old Army K* Communications trucks were set up in a similar fashion and highly desirable.

These aren't projects, they are money makers, lol. I'm for sure going to flip one for quick cash. Planning on parting the other out so I can get some good stuff for my current vans. I'm guessing the Duramax and trans are worth what a whole van is worth. The light bars, strobes and sirens are probably worth some good cash too.

All the vans are optioned the same. Windows are in doors only. Dual alternators and batteries. The rear has lots of lighting, 110 outlets, storage shelves and compartments and stuff I still haven't discovered. I think there is a rear heater/ac unit of some kind as well.

The way they are set up, they would make excellent hvac/plumbing/mechanic/camping/etc rigs.

Lol, I can't afford new ones. I'll just say that these two were "extremely low-priced" and I would have been stupid not to acquire at least a couple of them.

I would love to find a "reasonably priced" one of those to use as a weekend camper - don't care about having a bathroom or kitchen really but would love to have the dual alternator/battery setups with with 110 power and a convenient built in bed.....

I worked in a body shop early 80's. We had a local fire truck in for some scrape touch up. I was late that day and missed the meeting. Meeting gist, blow the siren blow your job. I blew the siren inside the building, 5 minutes after I got in. lol Not fired, got a talking to.
