Has anyone messed with this style thermostat to get the AC colder ? The old style discontinued stat my Mack came with was awesome one simple screw turn and you could make the system freeze up ! So cut in cut out is self explanatory then you have COLDER and an arrow, so is that saying turn both screws clockwise to go colder ? Figured I'd ask before I just experiment, it's freakin hot out there and a bit of a pain in the neck to monkey with...

That's a thermally controlled electric fan switch. It activates your radiator cooling fan when the rad reaches a certain temp.

That's what it looks like to me anyway.

Capillary tube to the evaporator with adjustable thermostat.
Our trucks use a cycling switch on the accumulator. Both systems designed to prevent the freezing up of the condensation in the evaporator.
Make sure you have a full charge, the heater valve is completely closed and the clutch fan is functioning as well as the shroud being in place.

It is not, it monitors the temperature of the evaporator and activates and deactivates your compressor to keep you cool yet not freeze up the evaporator and expansion valve, the factory settings suck much to conservative especially in my Mack...
