Whats all needed for a 4 inch lift?

Hey yall, i looked around and couldn't really find any answers but i am looking to buy a 4 inch Rough Country all spring lift and wanted to know what all needs to be done when lifting a truck 4 inches, like lengthening drive shafts etc. Also how bad does Rough Country really ride? I mean I don't expect a lifted squarebody to ride like a cadillac but also don't wanna be hitting the ceiling every time I hit a bump. Thanks all for your help.

Mines got a BDS and all rancho shocks I'm happy with it

And steering arm, driveshafts should be fine extend your vent tubes on axles

I just installed their 2" kit with front springs and rear blocks. The front is definitely more stiff but not ridiculous. Might also be because I have the quad shocks and 4 new shocks up front will also stiffen it up from my old worn out ones.

I would get the

Steering stabilizer shock, unless yours is fairly new

Sway Bar Drop Brackets

Transfer case drop kit

Longer brake lines front and rear

The install went great even though they forgot the crush washers for the front brake lines but they shipped those right out after a quick phone call. And my 2" kit didn't require brake lines but I wanted to since they were original and I plan on running with the sway bar disconnected when off roading and wanted the extra slack.

The 4" kit comes with some spacers for the tc so that should be covered. I found the brake line relocation brackets included with the kit to be worthless and had to buy extended braided lines.

As far as the ride quality is concerned, I guess it depends on the owner's expectations. I put up with it for a while but ultimately ended up replacing the front springs with another brand.

Put it this way... Lots of people compare Pro Comp and Rough Country as one of the same.

And I will simply state I do NOT enjoy my truck with Pro Comp springs in the least bit and in fact I all but refuse to drive it because of how hard it rides.

Lifted my truck over last summer. I have to say that it rides 100% better after the lift than it ever did before.



Front:
4" EZ Rides
ORD swaybar correction / quick disconnects
Drop pitman arm to correct the steering
Extended brake lines
Rancho RS9000XL adjustable shocks



Rear:
ORD 4" shackle flip
Stock spring pack (added a few leaves as well)
Heavy duty ORD shackle
Greasable bushings and bolts
Extended brake lines
Rancho RS9000XL shocks



If you're concerned about ride quality, look into the ez rides. If you have a heavy bumper, winch, or big block, spring for the HD versions otherwise you might have a good bit of sagging in the front.

I installed a 4" Superlift and like it a lot actually. It pretty much rides like it did before the lift. I do have a noisey U-joint now and I would recommend the steering arm upgrade as I will be ordering mine in the near future. My truck only has the 31's it had before the lift. They are practically new and really dont look that bad. Trying to decide on 33's or 35's
