Yeah...those are really nice. Those ceramic headers will always be higher but will dress up the engine bay considerably. I wished I'd gone with them on the '77 but I went with the black and in short order the black burned off and they're more of a grey now :)

If you buy painted (black) headers, look in your engine bay and imagine them in 2 or 3 years rust colored instead of black. If I had it to do over I would have went with ceramic coated, chromed, stainless, anything but regular old painted steel.

:word: The painted ones are much cheaper but definitely don't look nearly as good long term. When I get to the point of doing it over again I'll spend more money in this area for sure :High 5:

Then you'll probably need to fork out $400+.... then get the rest of the exhaust ran after that.

Not problem. Probably replace the mufflers and cats too. But going with hi flow cats. Undecided on mufflers yet but leaning towards dynomax.

Those things are bad ass.

...on the driver side header you can see a place where the 02 sensor will go right before the 4 pipes come together (it's threaded in there). You'll need that on any set of headers you get in order to pass inspection.
It may not be an issue, but I would figure you'd want the oxygen sensor to be reading all four cylinders instead of just one. Like on the headers that C4 posted, the fitting is on the collector instead of the tube.

How far back does your state require testing? I'm riding out stock from the cat forward for at least 2 more years. After that, this emission rip-off will be history, and I'll be looking to go long tube with pipes & mufflers only. Hopefully that won't screw with the TBI???

Missouri's is based on year of vehicle and not age. I believe for our squares the cut off is 82 and newer have to have cats but before then they don't care about emissions so mine is just headers into dual flowmaster 40 series and straight out the back.

77 and newer require cats here. Unless you're on antique tags.
