Im in the process of deciding on wheels/tires for my 1980 C10. Im lowering it 4" front and 6" in the rear. Im leaning towards an 18" wheels. Ive done a bit of research but most wheel discussions do not include offsets. If you are running aftermarket wheels could you please chime in with you wheel specs including offset, width etc as well as tire size.

Thanks

Wheel offset is just a byproduct of the two most important measurements- width and backspace.

You are correct. Probably going 18x8, 18x10 but not sure on offset and backspacing. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm not sure on what fits. I know that with 15's you generally can't have anything over about 4" backspace, but with a larger diameter rim there is probably more clearance. So if you want to stuff as wide of a wheel as you can up front then you will need to take advantage of having more clearance for backspacing.

But if you just want to bolt up an 18"x8" on the front and call it good, then a common 4" backspace should work fine. Anymore backspace than that, the wheel will be too far inside the wheelwell, imho.

@FireTruck1984,

Wow. I didn't know that's how a 5 lug was measured. I really didn't know because I never have bought a set of custom rims that were different from whatever was offered off the shelf. All I ever knew was a Chevy rim was different from a Ford or Mopar rim because of the stud pattern, not really anything else beyond that.

I did know about back space but "offset"? By what ya'll are saying I see where it would come into play.
