Don't they call them parot pliers?

These are what ive always called parrot jaw. Apparently they are also in the same catagory as pictured earlier.

I've been looking for a pair or two of those, but haven't seen any in stores.

I watch a ton of on line auctions because I try to buy and sell cars and such. A pallet of garage tools came up and I won the bid at $65. The scan tools are out dated and only go to I think '09 but will work on my Tacoma and my '87 Gm trucks because they have OBD1 cables too. It can register TPMS sensors if you have to change them. Temp gun, tire patch kit, black light to look for UV dye leaks, pressure tester for fuel tanks to check for evap leaks, coolant pressure tester, Throttle body fuel pressure tester, soldering gun, and other stuff. If anything, stuff to sell at a swap meet or something.

What ever sort of deal I got here went away as I purchased new Snap On 1/4 drive deep and shallow metric sockets, new 1/4 drive swivel head ratchet and 1/4 drive wobble plus extension set to add to my old Snap On set that was getting worn and retired to the home tool box

Not new, but brought new life to it, I had inherited it with my uncles tools.

I had initially thought it was an inline air drill, discovered it’s a die grinder with a Jacob’s chuck. Not sure how but things clearly went pear shaped at some point:

But I had also inherited a new Jacobs chuck that I assume was intended to go on it. Turned out I did not need to get the old chuck opened, but I wasn’t sure if there was or wasn’t going to be a screw to remove first, like hand drills have (to keep it from unscrewing in reverse).

Unscrewed that nut at the chuck end and the “cartridge” comes out and there is a tang I was able to put a wrench on and with the chuck clamped in the vise, simply unscrew it, then install the new chuck.
